When Tragedy Strikes

When Al Denson speaks to students across America he comes with his own story of struggle and tragedy. In December of 1994, Al’s much publicized, near death experience in the crash of a small aircraft, led him to a rare insight about the tenuous nature of earthly life. Since then Al has learned a lot about dealing with tragedy.

“When Tragedy Strikes” is a program designed to assist local churches in dealing with tragedy in their public schools. If you notice the title of this program is “When” tragedy strikes not “If” tragedy strikes. Tragedy is a part of human life and we can never predict when tragedy will happen in our lives. That is why we offer this program in a very unique way.

This is what Al and Celebration Ministries will do:

  • When a tragedy impacts your public school call us within 2 to 3 weeks of the tragedy and Al will come (as schedules permit) to speak to the students in the school at which the tragedy occurred. He will also perform an outreach concert for the area's youth in the evening of the assembly.
  • Give each student attending the assembly the “When Tragedy Strikes - The Horror and the Hurt” Booklet. This is a tool that each student can take with them as an encouraging resource beyond the assembly.
  • Perform an evening evangelistic concert for students in the area. Celebration Ministries will provide a second booklet entitled “When Tragedy Strikes - The Hope and the Healing” which gives biblical answers to dealing with tragedy.
  • If Al’s schedule does not allow him to come to your area Celebration Ministries will still send you both “When Tragedy Strikes” booklets to assist local churches and community leaders in helping students deal with the tragedy that has touched their lives.
  • Al Denson and Celebration Ministries will provide all of these materials as a gift. The local churches and organizations will: Cover transportation costs for Al to come to your area. Provide meals, lodging, and local transportation. Provide sound production for Al in the assembly and evening youth rally.
